Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men – 1 of 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. American Cancer Society estimates about 180,890 new cases of prostate cancer in the United States for 2016 and about 26,120 deaths from prostate cancer.*
At U.S. Preventive Medicine (USPM) we are focused on adding life to years and years to life. That’s why in the month of November, several men on our USPM team came together to help raise awareness of men’s health and prostate cancer through our No Shave November contest!
“Most, if not all, of us have been impacted by cancer, whether personally or through a friend or family. It is a vicious disease that we need to understand better. Hopefully, we will one day find a cure. As a health organization, we feel especially sensitive to a disease like cancer. To that end, we wanted to spend November helping raise awareness of cancer in our employees’ communities. So we decided to participate in “No Shave November” to help raise awareness of the effects cancer has on our lives.” – Logan Thompson, Controller/Investor Relations at USPM.
Many participated but three won in the following categories:
- Longest Beard: Logan Thompson
- Best Styled Beard: Kyle Aylor
- Saddest Beard: Andrew Kwong
USPM is making donations to the American Cancer Society on behalf of the winners to help further the efforts of the American Cancer Society and the incredible work they are doing to find a cure. We are proud to serve our clients, members and others in our community by helping make the world a healthier place!
